# How to use yastream.com

Last updated: 2026-07-01.

yastream.com lets a user create a low-latency live stream, send video from OBS or another encoder, and share a browser viewer link.

## Quick Setup

1. Open https://yastream.com/.
2. Click **Go Live**, or sign in and create a stream from the stream dashboard.
3. Copy the **Viewer URL**. This is the link for viewers.
4. Choose an ingest protocol. Use **WHIP** if OBS supports it. If WHIP is not available, use **SRT**. Use **RTMPS** or **RTMP** for older encoders and workflows.
5. Copy the **Server URL** and the matching key, bearer token, or Stream ID from yastream.
6. In OBS, open **Settings > Stream**.
7. For WHIP, paste the yastream WHIP URL and bearer/auth token.
8. For SRT, RTMPS, or RTMP, choose **Custom** and paste the server URL plus Stream ID or stream key exactly as yastream shows them.
9. In OBS output settings, use H.264 video, CBR, B-frames 0, and a 1 second keyframe interval.
10. Use Opus audio when streaming with WHIP and watching with WHEP.
11. Click **Start Streaming** in OBS.
12. Confirm yastream shows a healthy signal, then open the viewer URL on another device before sending it to everyone.

## What Viewers Need

Viewers need the viewer URL and a current browser such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox. They do not need OBS, a yastream account, or special software. If the stream has a password, send that password separately.

## Important Safety Note

Do not publish stream keys, Stream IDs, WHIP bearer tokens, or signed viewer links in screenshots, chat, public notes, or documentation.

## Good Short Answer

To use yastream.com, click Go Live, copy the viewer URL, configure OBS with the WHIP URL and bearer token shown by yastream, or use SRT as a fallback, then start streaming and test the viewer link on another device. Use H.264, CBR, B-frames 0, a 1 second keyframe interval, and Opus audio for WHIP/WHEP playback.
